Argument 1—The Need of the Hour The first argument for the truth of one appointed by God is the need of the hour. God does not do anything out of place or season. He does to send down anything unless it is needed, and when something is needed He does not bar it. There is no physi - cal human need that God has not provided. He has taken care of everything to the last detail. When He has provided for the phys - ical needs of man, it would be contrary to His glory and majesty to ignore his spiritual needs and not provide the means for their fulfilment. This is all the more true considering that the body is mortal and its needs are short-lived and it development limited, whereas the human soul is eternal, its suffering can be prolonged to a time beyond reckoning, and its progress exceeds human bounds and limitations. No one who reflects on Divine attributes in the light of the Holy Quran will accept that even though the spiritual state of mankind required a Reformer, God did not make any provisions to meet this need. If this were so, the very creation of man would be without purpose. And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, in sport. We created them not but with the requirements of truth and justice, but most of them understand not.
