39 lives for higher aims, deal with them compassionately, and where Quran has referred to 59 it is not something that is distinct from the common people and is meant for a specific period, rather it is a clear guideline which is also relevant in this institution. a. So with reference to the new Ahmad i s my answer is that even if they have not yet started paying obligatory Chanda and are willing to pay voluntary Chanda they should not be refused on the basis that they do not participate in the obligatory Chanda. They should remain under training for a period of three months, six months or even a year. Then, a decision should be reached on individual basis. b. And as far as those persons are concerned who have come out of the category of and have become an integral part of Jama'at , the guideline of the Jama'at is and will remain that if they do not pay Chanda ‘Am or fail to pay Chanda Wa s iyyat after promising to do so, then other (voluntary) Chandas shall not be acceptable from them. " 60 Hadrat Khalifatul Masih V ah , said about Nau Mub a ’‘ i n : "At the very beginning it should be made clear upon NAU MUB A ’‘ I N (New Ahmad i s ) that if in the beginning they do not or cannot pay Chanda at the prescribed rate, as they have not yet had the proper training, they should be asked to start paying Chanda Waqf-e-Jad i d or Chanda Ta h r i k-e-Jad i d. Soon they will get used to it and will even get pleasure out of paying Chanda. And they would also get worried, like many of us, who write in their letters that they are very much worried about their promise of Chanda Waqf-e-Jad i d or promise of Chanda Ta h r i k-e-Jad i d which we have to fulfill and the time is short.
