It is our duty therefore to pay tribute to such a person and offer salutation of peace to him. ” Akbar said that the Holy Quran states, ‘Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet. O ye who believe! you also should invoke blessings on him and salute him with the salutation of peace. ’ ( S u rah al-A h z a b, 33:57) In obedience to this Divine command, Muslims all over the world pray for him and invoke the blessings of God on him. They say: َ اَللّٰھُم َّ صَل ِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّد ٍ وَّعَلٰٓی اٰل ِ مُحَمَّد ٍ کَمَا صَلَّیْت َ عَلٰٓی اِبْرَاھِیْم َ ِ اَللّٰھُم َّ صَل ِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّد ٍ وَّعَلٰٓی اٰل ِ مُحَمَّد ٍ کَمَا صَلَّیْت َ عَلٰٓی اِبْرَاھِیْم ِ وَعَلٰٓی اٰل ِ اِبْرَاھِیْم َ اِنَّك َ حَمِیْد ٌ مَّجِیْدٌ. اَللّٰھُم َّ بَارِك ْ عَلٰی مُحَمَّد ٍ وَّعَلٰٓی اٰل وَعَلٰٓی اٰل ِ اِبْرَاھِیْم َ اِنَّك َ حَمِیْد ٌ مَّجِیْدٌ. اَللّٰھُم َّ بَارِك ْ عَلٰی مُحَمَّد ٍ وَّعَلٰٓی اٰل مُحَمَّد ٍ کَمَا بَارَکْت َ عَلٰٓی اِبْرَاھِیْم َ وَعَلٰٓی اٰل ِ اِبْرَاھِیْم َ اِنَّك َ حَمِیْد ٌ مَّجِیْدٌ. مُحَمَّد ٍ کَمَا بَارَکْت َ عَلٰٓی اِبْرَاھِیْم َ وَعَلٰٓی اٰل ِ اِبْرَاھِیْم َ اِنَّك َ حَمِیْد ٌ مَّجِیْدٌ. Translation: Shower Your blessings, O Allah, on Muhammad and his people as You have showered Your blessings on Abraham and the people of Abraham. Prosper O Allah, Muhammad and his people as You have prospered Abraham and the people of Abraham. You are indeed Praiseworthy, the Gracious.
