37 10 MARTYRDom Hadrat Zainab ra lived a little over a year after Hadrat Abul-‘ As ra accepted Islam. The cause of her death was the same wound that she received at the time of her migration. This places her in the circle of martyrs. She passed away in the eighth year after the Hijrah. The Holy Prophet sa pronounced a death sentence for Habb a r bin Aswad who had inflicted the wound on her. However, he pardoned the murderer of his beloved daughter when he asked for forgiveness at the time of the conquest of Makkah.
