32 This historical event marks the beginning of the Islamic calendar. Jannatul Baqee‘— Or ‘Garden of Heaven’ is the old- est and the first Islamic cemetery in present-day Saudi Arabia. It is located to the southeast of the Prophet’s Mosque and contains the graves of some members of the family of the Holy Prophet Muhammad sas and his companions.
