It was fought at a place called Badr, in the second year af- ter the Migration (Hijrah) of the Holy Prophet to Mad- inah. Battle of Uhud— The second military encounter be - tween the Muslims and the non-believers of Makkah, fought in the third year after the Migration of the Holy Prophet to Madinah. Martyr — A martyr is someone killed for their religious beliefs or other noble causes. Quba — A small village located a few miles away from Madinah on the city’s outskirts. Sahaabi/Sahaabiyah — A male/female follower or dis - ciple of the Holy Prophet Muhammad s as who has lived in the time of the Holy Prophet Muhammad s as and has seen the Prophet with his/her own eyes. The plural of this is sahaabah/sahaabiyaat.
