. . -·. ;-- - -----·- People Returnto Idol Worship The people of as's time had becomecor- rupt. Instead of worshippingthe One and Only God they had started to worship idols made of wood or \: stone. They had many idols. Five of these idols were very popular. Their names were Wadd, Suwa, Yaghuth,Yauqand Nasr. It is said that people at the i time of , peacebeupon him, used to make statues in memory of their pious people who were long dead and place them where these pious people usedto sit. Laterthey deviatedfrom the true path and started worshippingthem. They were convincedthat the idols would help them in their time of need so they used to beg everythingfrom the idols. They fol- lowed the beliefsof their forefatherswho were idol worshippers.
