Makhd u m Sahib was of advanced age. His wife was much younger and was very beautiful. One day Maulaw i N u r-ud-D i n ra said to her: "I wish to ask you two questions. The first is: Are you fully conscious of your great beauty?" "Indeed I am. I am so conscious of it that in the whole of Mecca I am the only woman who does not use any make-up whatever. " "My second question is: I have observed that you work very hard to make Makhd u m Sahib comfortable. He is very old and you are very young. Your utter devotion to him surprises me. " "Were he not old, I would not work so hard. God having bestowed him on me as my husband, it is my duty to behave most handsomely towards him and provide him with every comfort. " Maulaw i N u r-ud-D i n ra was convinced that the young woman had achieved the climax of virtue and beneficence. He enquired from Makhd u m Sahib: "Are you completely satisfied with your wife? He answered: "I can vouch for her truthfulness. She is most mindful of my comfort, and fully justifies her name S add i qa (the righteous one).
