FINAL ADMONITIONS Hadrat Maulw i Nur-ud-D i n ra — Khalifatul Masih I 262 Despite his declining health Hadrat Khalifatul Masih ra completed a lesson of the whole of the Holy Quran during the month of Ramadan in August- September 1913. The main attack was delivered on behalf of the dissentients behind the thin and cowardly veil of anonymity in October 1913, in the shape of two tracts published, one after the other at a short interval, under the captions I z h a rul H aq I and I z h a rul H aq II. They were a despicable and shameful performance full of false and slanderous allegations against Hadrat Khalifatul Masih ra and members of the family of the Promised Messiah as , including Hadrat Ummul Mu’min i n. The fact that they were inspired by the leadership of the dissentients, despite their disclaimer, is established by the statement published in Paigh a m- e- S ul h of November 16, 1913, by the editors to the effect: "From what we have seen of the tracts there cannot be the least doubt that most of the statements made in them are true … Should the An sa rull a h of Lahore deem it appropriate to move in the matter and should they contemplate writing something against us in order to create a misunderstanding on account of our endorsement of the statements contained in the tracts, they will be responsible for whatever retort we may have to publish. " 124 Hadrat Khalifatul Masih ra directed the Anjuman An sa rull a h to prepare and publish a rejoinder to the tracts. When the manuscript of the rejoinder was submitted to him he examined it and noted on it: Paigh a m ( S ul h ) has earned a thousand reproofs by sending us the message of war by publishing its open letter, and has thus proclaimed its hypocrisy.
