Hadrat Maulw i Nur-ud-D i n ra — Khalifatul Masih I KHILAFAT 191 Hadrat Mirza Sahib as has left six children; praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds. If one of them or of their issue, should prove to be the one of high resolve, and the great Immanuel, whose birth has been prophecied, then at that time how will you or your progeny face the world? 79 Sahibz a da Mirz a Bashir-ud-Din Ma h m u d Ahmad ra , not yet twenty, also wrote a booklet on that occasion, the title of which was: Who can put out the Light of the Righteous? Having read it, Hadrat Khalifatul Masih ra remarked to Maulaw i Muhammad ‘Al i : You and I have both written in refutation of the objections raised by our opponents against the Promised Messiah as , but M i y an Ma h m u d ra has left both of us behind. He then despatched a copy of the booklet to Maulaw i Muhammad H usain of Bat a la, by registered post, and wrote to him: You have said that Mirz a Sahib’s as offspring are not good. I have sent you a copy of a booklet written by one of them. Should any of your offspring have written anything send me a copy of it. Of the many unique distinctions of Hadrat Khalifatul Masih ra , it would not be out of place to mention two. He was one of the narrators of forty A ha d i th of the Holy Prophet sa which have been transmitted orally down the centuries through an unbroken chain of narrators. In his turn he passed them on, together with the names of the whole chain of narrators, to, among others, Ha fi z Raushan ‘Al i ra and M i r Muhammad Is ha q ra. He also had had the opportunity of performing the circuit of the Kaaba at a time when no one else- was engaged in performing it.
