On being so directed Maulaw i Sahib went to Bhera, visited the patient at his residence at the edge of town, examined him, prescribed for him, and without entering the town or meeting any of his friends, or looking at the old family mansion or the partly-built construction he had designed, returned to Qadian, as if Bhera had never been his home. A wealthy citizen of Rawalpindi came to Qadian and begged Hadrat Mirza Sahib as to direct Maulaw i N u r-ud-D i n ra to go to Rawalpindi and treat a member of his family who was ill. Hadrat Sahib as told him: "I am sure if I were to ask Maulaw i Sahib ra to plunge into the ocean, or to jump into the fire, he would do so without the least hesitation, but I must have regard to his comfort and convenience also. His wife is expecting a baby, and I cannot ask him to go out of Qadian. " When Maulaw i Sahib ra heard this he was so deeply moved that he found it difficult to give expression to his joy that his master had so much confidence in him. A notable Chieftain had come to Qadian and was being treated by Maulaw i N u r-ud-D i n ra. One day two of his retainers came to him and told him that the Lieutenant-Governor of the Province was about to visit the Chieftain’s part of the Province who desired that Maulaw i Sahib ra should accompany him and be present on the occasion. He told them that he could not stir out of Qadian without his master’s permission. They then waited on Hadrat Mirza Sahib as and submitted the Chieftain’s request to him. He told them: "Maulaw i Sahib’s ra activities here are a source of physical and spiritual benefit for a large number of people; I do not deem it proper that they should be suspended for the sake of a purely mundane purpose.
