POSTSCRIPT SIGN NUMBER 157 441 مَا مَدَّ هَذَا الْكِبْرُ إِلَّا الدَّرْهَمُ كبْرُ يُسَسِّرُ نَفْسَهُ بِصِرَامِهِ Arrogance fuels the flames of his ego; This arrogance was given birth by his [temporal] wealth. الْفَخْرُ بِالْمَالِ الْكَثِيرِ جَهَالَةٌ غَيْمٌ قَلِيلُ الْمَاءِ لَا يَتَلَوَّمُ Pride in affluence equates to ignorance; Akin to a cloud which cannot retain the little water it has. جَهْدُ الْمُخَالِفِ بَاطِلٌ فِي أَمْرِنَا سَيْفٌ مِّنَ الرَّحْمَنِ لَا يَتَثَلَّمُ The efforts of our opponents are futile against us; Ours is the sword [of the Gracious God] that will never face any detriment. فِي وَجْهِنَا نُورُ الْمُهَيْمِنِ لَائِحٌ إِنْ كَانَ فِيْكُمْ نَاظِرُ مُتَوَسِّمُ The light of God shines on my countenance; If only one of you had the eyes for it! مَا قُلْتَ يَا عَبْدَ الْحَكِيمِ بِجَنْبِنَا إِلَّا كَخَذْفٍ عِنْدَ سَيْفٍ يَصْرِمُ O ʻAbdul-Hakim! The words you have spoken in my opposition Are like a stone hurled against a sharp sword. وَاللهِ لَا يُخْزَى عَزِيزَ جَنَابِهِ وَاللَّهِ لَا تُعْطَى الْعَلَاءَ وَ تُرْجَمُ By God, the friend of God will never be disgraced; By God, you will never succeed and you shall be rejected. هذَا مِنَ الرَّحْمَنِ نَبَأُ مُحْكَمُ فَاسْمَعْ وَيَأْتِي وَقْتُهُ الْمُتَحَتِّمُ This is a strong and incontrovertible tiding from God. Listen! The time of its fulfilment is close at hand.
