426 HAQIQATUL-WAḤI—THE PHILOSOPHY OF DIVINE REVELATION آنکه گوید ابن مریم چون شدی ہست او غافل ز راز ایزدی He who questions how I became Ibn-e-Maryam Is oblivious to the hidden secrets of the Divine. آں خدائے قادر و ربّ در براھیں نام من مریم نہاد العباد The Almighty God, the Lord of His servants, Himself named me Maryam in Barahin. ہرتے بودم برنگ مریمی دست یہ پیران زمی ناداده For long I remained in a Maryam-like state, Without following the contemporary divines. حق نا آشنا از رفیق ہنچو بکرے یافتم نشو و نما راه Like a virgin was I raised― Unaware and unaccompanied-on the path of truth. روح عیسی اندران مریم دمید بعد ازاں آں قادر و رب مجید Later, God Almighty, the Lord of Grandeur Breathed into Maryam the spirit of Īsā [Jesus]. زاد زاں مریم مسیح این زمان پس به نفخش رنگ دیگر شد عیاں With His breath new life was created: The Messiah of the age was delivered by her. زانکه مریم بود اول گام من زیں سبب شد ابن مریم نام من This is the reason that I was named 'son of Maryam', For it was as Maryam that I took my first footsteps. شد ز جائے مریمی بر تر قدم بعد ازاں از نفخ حق عیسی شدم Thereafter, God infused me with the spirit of ‘Īsā, And I was elevated beyond the status of Maryam.
