/11 the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful SEVENTEENTH FRIDAY SERMON (EXTRACT) March 15. 1991 A SPECIAL APPEAL FOR PRAYERS FOR PEACE IN THE MUSLIM WORLD After reciting the Opening Chapter of the Holy Quran, AI-Fatiha, Hazoor said: During the current month of Ramazan, special prayers need lo be offered for the welfare of Muslims all over the world. In this context, I had discussed in detail a number of issues in my earlier sermons. But I still foresee a multitude of problems endangering mankind which I could not touch upon, except in passing, because of the scarcity of time. I h ave already concluded this subject and have no desire of discussing it further except to caution you that in the next few months, certain dreadful decisions may be taken which may not only be detrimental to the Muslim world but may also engulf the entire world in a century-long era of misery and misfortune. It is also possible that as a result o f certain other decisions, man, and indeed the Muslims may h ave the opportunity to withstand the final onslaught of all the satanic forces. I f the Muslims withstand and endure this attack, the whole world, as a result would be shielded. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat must shoulder the greatest responsibility for the defence of the Muslims. I b ase this conviction on a particular saying of the Holy Prophet Muhammad•. . in which he predicted that in the latter part of the life of this world when the world would be engulfed in calamities and misfortunes, it would be the exclusive prayers of the Promised Messiah u that would rescue the Muslims and the world from this ordeal. Under the circumstances, the month of Ramazan could not have come at a better time when all such calamities have become quite evident. There are other covert plans still unveiled which may prove to be even more disastrous than the overt ones. 343
