Fifth Friday Senno11 Nov 9, 1990 GOD AND HIS APOSTLES WILL EVENTUALLY PREVAIL Regarding the present government in Pakistan, many Ahmadis seem to be worried and write letters to me expressing concern that the present government is composed of elements which were, and are the bitter antagonists of Ahmadiyyat. But the government leaders who are at the helm of affairs have a different claim. The fact is that, when this new government took control and the authority came in their hands, misgivings and dangers were expressed from many quarters, but the leaders gave the assurance that they were gentlemen. They promised to reciprocate decent behaviour and reassured all law-abiding citiz. ens that they had nothing to fear. On the other hand, the Ahmadis were listening to another voice, and that was the voice of the Mullah, who was, as if saying 'do not be misled by the voice of the government. No matter, whoever has the apparent power, but the real power and the ability of exercising oppression continues to be in our hand. We possess the ability to use the sword to swipe off the neck of anybody we choose. This sword is now in our hands. " It seems that the Ahmadis heard this message and perceived many apprehensions in their hearts. They nurtured numerous fears and scepticism, and at the moment, this appears to be their thinking. I wish to remind them of an incident in the life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad. . , which serves as an excellent gist of the advice I wish to give. During one campaign, the Holy Prophet•u was separated from his companions and was resting under the shade of a tree. He was awakened by the shout of an enemy who had managed to sneak up to the spot where the Prophet was resting. He grabbed the Prophet's sword and brandishing it over his head, enquired: "O' Muhammad! Who can save you from my sword now?" The Prophet remained in his reclining position and replied with impeccable confidence: "My Allah". What an excellent reply! The Holy Prophet's reply to this opponent, is the one, and only reply, to all such challenges and trials that may befall humanity till the end of days. Believers will continue to give this reply lo all tyrants. If a believer does not give this answer, then there is no guarantee of his survival on this earth. So, do not look at the hands which have a grip of the sword today, rather fix your eyes on that God, in whose control, those hands are. Watch that Divine Power, controlling those shoulders which brandish the sword at your head. 102
