EXPECTED CONFRONTATION OF ISLAM WITH RACIAL PREJUDICES Racism is another aspect of this subject, wh. ich is making an upsurge at a phenomenal pace. Although one frequently hears the voice of the Western world against racism, so that calling anyone a racist is considered to be an abuse, but all this is superficial. Whatever movement against racism is observed in the Western world, it mainly emanates from the Jewish camp, with the sole purpose of eliminating opposition to Jewish racism. This movement is not meant to deter the Jewish racial tendencies but instead, it is a well orchestrated propaganda campaign beamed at Europe and the U. S. to silence all such movements which occasionally rise to denounce Jewish racial trends. In the pursuit of th. is objective they give prominence to race-oriented atrocities of the Nazi era by way of stage-dramas, pictorial presentations and by holding occasional seminars in the Western hemisphere. In this manner the world is being cautioned that it must never again commit such a blunder. AJong with this propaganda campaign, prosecution and punishment for old war crimes still continues, sending a strong message to the world that any recurrence of the past racial hatred against the Jewish people would never be forgiven. So whatever movement you find here against racism, in fact pertains to the benefit of this limited circle. The tendency towards racism is actually on the increase in these nations. But the prime target of this racism is the Eastern world, the African nations or Islam. Sometimes Islam is portrayed as 'nationalism• and racial sentiments are aroused against it. At other times, racism is presented in the form of religion and society, and sentiments are aroused against other races. Whatever has happened, or is still happening, in the Soviet Union, or the changes which were brought about following the fall of the Berlin Wall and its global repercussions have already been briefly mentioned by me in my concluding address at the Ahmadiyya Annual convention in July. I had explained that the upsurge of racial prejudice is a very crucial factor which will be in direct conflict with Islam. It is only the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community wh. ich has been established to defend Islamic values and by the Grace of God, is fully capable of 74
