HAZRAT MIRZA TAlilR AHMAD Hazrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad, born on December 18, 1928 at Qadian, India is the fourth successor of the Promised Messiah u. He is the spiritual and administrative head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaal, and a grandson of the Founder, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the Promised Messiah u. The official title of the Supreme head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaal is: "Ha. zrat Khalifa-tul-Massih IV" - fourth vicegerent to the Promised Messiah u. A graduate of "Jamia Ahmadiyya", a missionary college of the organization, Hazrat Ahmad attended the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, England, from 1955-57. Upon his return from England, he volunteered to dedicate his life to the cause of Islam and thus became involved in the Jamaal as a full time worker. He served the organii. ation in various capacities, including from minor roles to leading important institutions. In 1982, he was elected to head the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaal in the capacity of "Khalifa tul-Massih IV". Hazrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad is a widely travelled man and a keen observer of other cultures, groups and societies. Outstanding scholar, blessed with extraordinary understanding of the Holy Quran, he is an orator par excellence and keeps his audience spellbound. His most inspiring Friday sermons are tape-recorded and distributed to all Ahmadiyya Muslim Communities in some 120 countries regularly every week. In doz. ens of European and the former USSR countries, these sermons are seen live through TV satellite networks. He conducts very interesting and highly educative "Question- Answer" sessions with the young and old which are recorded and distributed all over the world. Until now, he has recorded over 500 Friday Sermons and numerous "Question- Answer" sessions in both English and Urdu. These serve as an excellent guide to Ahmadi Muslims to conduct their lives on Islamic principles. Hazrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad is an avid reader and takes keen interest in modem scientific knowledge. He is also an acclaimed writer and poet. His book, "Murder in the name of Allah" published by Lutterworth Press, London, England in which he very forcefully projected the peaceful posture of Islam, gained wide acclamation. His Holiness is a good sportsman, a squash player, and a specialist in Homeopathic medicine.
