The Gulf Crisis & The New World Order THE LAND OF IRAO: MINARETS OF DEATH, MADE OF HUMAN SCULL Lastly, I will tell you that the land and soil of Iraq has been grossly abused and its people oppressed for centuries. That soil has witnessed great pain and sorrow. Great havoc and destruction had occurred and prolonged wars and wholesale slaughter had taken place on it. Tragic human dramas have been played out there. If one were to describe that tortured land, one could perhaps call it a land of minarets of death, made of human skull. History tells us that the first assault was by the Assyrians. When the Assyrians conquered that area, they committed gross atrocities and indulged in indiscriminate slaughter of the people. They wreaked such havoc that for 200 years the people of that area lived in terror and fear. In 879 B. C the victorious king and conqueror built a minaret in front of his palace. On the minaret was inscribed this legend 11 , "I am the king who skins people. I skin those who dare to oppose me. This minaret that you see is covered all over with human skin and skeleton and stuck on top of the minaret is a human skeleton. Live human beings have been used as bricks in its construction. I am the king who has skinned people. I am the king of destruction and death. " On the one hand he admitted that he was a king of destruction and death but at the same time he claimed: "I do this in the cause of virtue and in fact the Assyrians war is a war of good versus evil. We represent virtue and the rest of the world represents evil" I do not know if President Bush has studied that history. However, his action in Iraq is similar to the erection of a minaret of human skulls, bearing the same kind of inscription. That inscription would read something like: "We crush the spirit and ego of those people who dare challenge our authority. We trample them underfoot.
