Just as the Muslims have an institution of offering animal sacrifice or charity before they proceed to accomplish important tasks, similarly their idea took the form of a Jewish genocide in France. We do not find many examples of an unanned nation being subjected to such extreme cruelties in the entire human history. So this was the so called "act of charity" that they perfonned before embarking upon the first crusade. Then this became a common practice, and for the next two hundred years that before embarking on each crusade, the Jews would be randomly slain as an act of "charity"! Another occasion when the Jews were slaughtered in cold blood was to ward off any impending evil. You might have heard the historical reference to 'black death' over the period of 1347 to 1352. This was a terrifying epidemic of plague which had engulfed Europe. It was said to have originated in China then passed through Eastern Europe to end up in Western Europe. To ward off the evil of this disease they started sacrificing the Jews and spread many false myths about them. One of these being that it was indeed the ill premonition of the Jews in their midst and their mischief that brought this calamity upon them. So the annihilation of the Jews would be an act of virtue and that this would ward off their afflictions. You would be shocked to hear that countless Jews were killed or incinerated alive in their own homes. The number is stupendous and no definite estimates exist. According to some rough estimates, Jews were completely annihilated from sixty large towns and from 140 small towns. So this was the second vengeance that the Christian world took from the Jews. There were many others, but the third main revenge from the Jews was by Nazi - Germany. Although the facts and figures regarding this revenge - better known as the holocaust are not acceptable to all researchers but the Jews do insist that 6 million Jews were Killed in gas chambers. This happened over a period of ten years. So the argument was that in view of these horrifying cruelties to the Jews, they must be appeased and given their own home. It is a historical fact that many Jews would escape from these brutalities and take refuge with the Muslims in Palestine. 250
