/11 the 11ame of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful T WELFTH FRIDAY SERMON FEBRUARY 08, 1991 THE REALITY OF THE NEW WORLD ORDER OF PRESIDENT GEORGE BUSH After reciting the Opening Chapter of the Holy Quran, Al-Fatiha, Hazoor said: It is almost six months since I referred to the invasion of Baghdad by Halaku Khan far back in history in the context of the current situation in Baghdad. I had warned that the preparations were afoot to inflict an even greater destruction on Iraq. Such plans have, in fact, been finalized and I am apprehensive, if President Saddam Hussein does not take stock of the situation in its right perspective, a dreadful war of such destructive proportions would be unleashed on Iraq that the holocaust of Baghdad by Halaku Khan would dwindle before it into insignificance. THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE GULF WAR What has happened so far, and whatever has filtered down to us by now, is so dreadful and distressing that it has bled the hearts of the entire Islamic world. We must be under no illusion that the information that has trickled down so far is not even a fraction of the actual devastation and more facts would come to light in the aftermath of this war. To my reckoning hundreds of thousands of civilians and soldiers have been killed and wounded. The massive destruction of civilian population and property has not yet been documented. But the nature and extent of the carnage of the Iraqi defence forces bears no relation to the outcome of a traditional war. Instead it seems as if someone has his hands and feet tied down, and then he is being dismembered limb by limb.
