The Gulf Crisis & The New World Order WHO ARE THE "BRITISH AGENTS" AND THE "JEWISH AGENTS"? This situation is so transparent, but Muslim countries remained blind to it all along. One reason for this is the false and malicious propaganda that the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaal has been subjected to, in accusing us of being "British agents. " So whenever we cautioned the representatives of Muslim countries regarding Saudi Arabia, they would interpret it as our attempt to take revenge from Saudi Arabia and thought that there was no truth to what we said. But now the truth has been laid bare for the whole world to see. Even the Muslim Clergy who were on the Saudi payroll and would brand Ahmadis as "British agents" or sometimes "Jewish agents", now are declaring using such filthy language in their statements as is the common street language in Pakistan and is unbecoming for us to even quote; they used similar language here in the United Kingdom as well that the Saudis are "Jewish agents" or "Western agents", and that the Islamic world has only now found out the truth. ECONOMIC MIS ERY MAY HAVE FORCED CERTAIN NATIONS TO BARTER THEIR FAITH In a word, the treachery of Saudi Arabia warranted no surprise on our part, we were sure that they will act the way they did, this has been their policy which they have always adhered to. But it is very unfortunate that some countries , more recently, have betrayed the interest of Islam in such a way which was not even remotely expected of them. I think, this too has been due to the U. S. and Saudi pressure and influence over these countries who, on account of their economic misery, decided to barter their faith away. Those, from whom one would not have ever expected to behave this way, include Pakistan, Turkey and Syria. I did not expect this from Pakistan because, no matter how pro U. S. the government of Pakistan may be, I know, being a Pakistani myself, that the people an d armed forces of Pakistan have a spirit that cannot allow them to attack another Muslim country in collaboration with Western powers, or to join their ranks to justify their belligerence. It was impossible for Pakistani psyche to accept this state of affairs. But in spite of all this, when the present government of Pakistan fully sided with the allies in their atrocious venture, I was shocked beyond belief as to how can this happen! But thank God that 193
