The Gulf Crisis & The New World Order not wish to spend more time on it. You all understand that when this contemporary conflict comes to an end, it will not spell an end to the conflict itself. Rather, it will assume larger proportions, and threaten to involve the whole world which may erupt in a worldwide conflagration which gives one goose flesh even to contemplate. Then, those countries which are destroying one country and watching the spectacle from a distance, will themselves go through circumstances that will make them a part of the same spectacle. These circumstances, therefore, contain very deep-seated horrors and dangers. COMPREHENSIVE PRAYERS FOR THE VICTORY OF TRUTH I do not exhort the members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community to pray for the victory of any particular side in the war. Instead I advise you to pray for world peace. Pray to God: 0, God! we love the name as well as the message of the Holy Prophet Muhammad,. •. We love him because nobody in the world ever loved Thee as much as he did. So we adore his name, his work, his personality and character, his religious dispensation. The Holy Prophet was created as a "Mercy for both worlds", and his heart was deeply imbued with the love of humanity. So our love for the Holy Prophet demands that we must feel for the suffering of all humanity and do our best to ameliorate its miserable existence. But 0, God! we have nothing except the capability of praying to Thee. We are weak, unarmed and an oppressed Community. But we fall prostrate in front of Thee, 0, God! in the name of Muhammad. . . , and we supplicate before Thee to have mercy on his progeny and the rest of mankind, and to protect them from a worldwide tribulation whether it be a man-made disaster or one that is pre-destined for mankind, unknown to us. whatever may transpire, 0 God! let victory be the destiny of Islam and of humanity. Those moral values that have been long lost in the East as well as in the West, let them take root in this world once again and let them 165
