The Gulf Crisis & The New World Order PRAYERflJL OBLIGATIONS OF AHMADIS So my expectations from the members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is that, keeping this spirit of God-fearing in view, you will pray for the whole human-race, that may God not punish mankind on account of their decisions taken without the element of God fearing. Such decisions generally invite Divine Punishment, so pray that God may transform the thinking of these people to an unusual extent and may enable them to reform the situation and revert to the truth. You should pray for the whole world to become the recipient of peace from God. This peace does not si gn ify apparent peace; rather this peace is of the kind that encompasses the hearts and minds of the people. Because I am seeing it as a solid and firm reality that world peace depends on peace in the hearts and minds of the inhabitants of earth. If their hearts and minds are not at peace then the international environment cannot remain peaceful: either the world will be threatened by them or they will be threatened by the world. So external maladies are just a reflection of internal maladies that exist in the heart and minds. Therefore pray that God may reform their thinking and the way they feel. May God reform their society and set their minds and heart at peace so that mankind as a collective entity may experience peace and tranquillity. In this context, you must especially pray for the Muslim countries that God may still grant them some wisdom so that they may not become collaborators of non-Muslim nations in this tyrannical venture that is designed to annihilate a great Muslim power for the achievement of the ulterior objectives of these countries that they regard supreme. May the Muslim countries not affix their stamp of approval in this venture and be not remembered in the annals of mankind as a nation that made the most sinister decision of their history that could only have been written with the most sinister ink! These decisions forebode such gruesome transformations of the world that the future historian will write that it was after these decisions that world-peace became a rarity for all times to come: the war that was fought in the name of peace, begot further wars and disquietude spread throughout the world. If the Muslim countries did not come to their senses and set their thinking straight and withdraw from their commitments while there is still time, then the future historian would write this tomorrow, but we 149
