The Gulf Crisis and New World Order — Page 131
The Gulf Crisis & The New World Order items carried by the newspapers, radio and television throughout the world, on a daily basis, for eight long years. Now you can judge if this is the teachings of the Holy Quran about grasping the "hablellah" (rope of Allah). At first the Iran - Iraq war was labelled as a war between the Islamic and anti-Islamic forces. Later, it acquired different colours. Sometimes it was referred to as a war between the Sunni-Islam and Shiite-Islam. Sometimes it is dubbed as a war between the w icked apostates from Islam on the one side and the righteous people on the other. At other times, it was described as a war between Arabs and non-Arabs. The fact of the matter is that all the countries who supported Iraq in the war did not do so in the name of Islam, since there were a number of countries with a Shiite majority who sided with Iraq because of their common Arab origin. So the war was cast in terms of an Arab and non-Arab conflict. They helped Iraq on this basis but used the name of Islam. Their contention was that here was a tyrannical regime (Iran) that had strayed away from the path of Islam and was now committing yet another felony by attacking the Arabs and Muslims. You can see how Islam, (whether it be the Sunni Islam or the Shiite Islam) has been split asunder, and many Arab Muslim countries have allied themselves against another prominent Muslim country, Iraq. The threat of an all out conflagration has reached the flash point. This is similar to the inferno about which the Holy Quran has stated that you had reached the very fringe of the holocaust, but Allah saved you. They have not yet fallen into the pit of fire. If they have firm faith in the truth of the Holy Quran, then I beseech them most humbly that they should ponder over this verse. This verse should be the focus of the sermons from their pulpits. It should be aired on the radio and television and published in the newspapers so as to educate their people about what Islam expects from the Muslims. It should be made clear to them that if a war eventually erupts and results in the annihilation of any country, it would on no account be interpreted as the demise of Islam. The Holy Quran is infallible. Your claim of being true Muslims can be false but it is not possible for the Holy Quran to be in error. The Holy Quran says: "never be divided", continue to hold fast, collectively, to the "rope of Allah" - this alone is the prescription which can save you from the affliction and tortures of war. 131
