Never did human wisdom attain such maturity as it did in the person of the Holy Prophet of Islam. His heart and mind were equally perfect in their maturity, and the emotions of his heart were not allowed by him to cloud his faculty of reason. AN EXTREMELY PA11''FUL SITUATION FOR THE MUSLIM WORLD The extremely painful events that are unfolding these days, hold the same fascination for some people as if they are watching a cricket match glued to their T. V. sets for the better part of the day. But this is no cricket match. This is a horrifying and torturous war. You must have heard the phrase 'carpet bombing' being mentioned frequently, these days. This refers to a complete destruction of an area brought about by such heavy bombing that craters formed by the bombs are laid out as a continuum. One can get some idea of the bombardment let loose on Iraq, by the fact that the total strength of the bombs dropped on Iraq on the very first night exceeded the strength of the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima. And this situation continues unabated. This stale of affairs has caused tremendous heartache in the Islamic world. I am referring to only that cross section of the Islamic world which truly loves Islam and humanity, and which is desirous of world peace and would like to see human values being upheld - and cannot be happy to see any nation's prejudice emerge victorious. That segment of the Islamic world is going through an excruciatingly painful experience. They have agonizing days that are only followed by agonizing nights. It most certainly does not mean that they are supportive of every action taken by President Saddam. Not at all. For instance, President Saddam's decision to target Israel with scud missiles has caused even less damage than what you can expect in a traffic accident involving a passenger bus, but the whole world is appalled at this attack on Israel. Even a minor tremor of an earthquake proves more damaging than these scuds have been for Israel; even Irish terrorists wreak more havoc here due to their bomb blasts. But, in the words of the British Prime Minister, the world is appalled al this scud attack, and has no appropriate words to express its shock and horror.
