A Review of the Pakistani Government’s “White Paper”: Qadiyaniyyat—A Grave Threat to Islam [ 19 ] Definition of a Muslim According to Imam of the Wahh a b i s The h ad i th narrated above is significant because the present regime in Pakistan belongs to Wahh a b i [also called Ahl-e- H ad i th ] Group. The Im a m of this group who is also considered a reformer of the 12th century, Hadrat Im a m Muhammad Bin ‘Abdul Wahh a b, was a renowned holy man. He wrote, referring to the previously quoted h ad i th, as follows: That my Ummah will be divided into seventy three sects, all of them will be in fire, except one. Then he says: This point is one of the most significant points. Then he continues: People of understanding should know that the mean- ing of this statement is that the one sect that is bound for Heaven is the one that is called Muslim.
