Details of the verses that support the Ummul- Qur a verse, which demonstrate that Arabic is the mother of all tongues and is the revelation of Allah. One of these vers - es is from S u rah Ar-Ra h m a n , which is: ُ َ عَلَّمَه ض ْسَا� ض �ِْ اَّل َ ا ت َل�َ ض � َ ض َا� ی �َ ج ال�ْ 2. The word ض َا� ی �َ ج � [ bay a n : expression] here refers to the Arabic language; this is alluded to in another verse which states – 3 ٍ ض �ْ ی �ِ ج �ُم ٍّ ی �ِ ج عَر�َ. Thus God has determined ض �ْ ی �ِ ج م�ُ [ Mub i n : plain and clear expression] to be the spe - cial characteristic of Arabic and indicated that this is an exclusive attribute of Arabic and no other tongue shares this quality; this is not something hidden from those who reflect. By the use of the word ض َا� ی �َ ج � [ bay a n ], He denotes the characteristic of the eloquence of this tongue, and He further points to the fact that it is perfect and fulfils 1 Those blessed with frequent converse with God Almighty.
