I will expound later on how they distorted Islam. At this time, I would like to speak about the stance that the government of Pakistan has taken against the Ahmadiyyah Muslim Jam a ‘at. For this, we have a logical argument: the rancorous stance that [the government of Pakistan] has taken against us in the name of Islam is in complete contrast to the Holy Qur’an and the say ings and ac tions of the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa. By this cruel conduct, the present govern- ment is trying to snatch away our rights [to call ourselves Muslims] while God, the Judge and the All-Aware, has told the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa that: ‘O Prophet! Even you cannot take away that right from anyone’. So we feel we have the right to ask the government of Pakistan: ‘How did you acquire this right?’ A Lame Excuse for the Cruel Conduct Some of the excuses that have been crafted for the cruel course and to make the government’s stance credible are given in a chapter titled ‘The Secrets of the New Faith. ’ It tries to argue that since the Jam a ‘at-e-Ahmadiyyah calls other Muslims k a fir [non-believers], so it is only rational to call them k a fir. Therefore, what reason is there for Ahmad i s to object to this rationale? The outside world that does not understand these intricate differences is misled in this way
