284. Essence of Islam-IV love. Despite the certainty of pain and torment that might be meted out to me, I would regard going one step outside the obedience of God as worse than a thousand, rather countless deaths, or a host of calamities. [Malfūzāt, vol. 3, pp. 182-183]. It is incumbent upon the members of our Jama'at that they should now adopt the ways of righteousness and should try to become Allāh's friends. Today earthly resources will not avail, nor will your schemes or excuses be of any use. Why should you love the world, and why should you depend upon it? It is more than enough that one should make peace with God Almighty and now is the time for it. They should take advantage of this opportunity to make their peace with God through Himself. There are many illnesses which operate as go-betweens and lead man to God. . The members of our Jama'at should carry out in one stroke the change that they would otherwise have achieved in ten years. They have no other place of refuge. If they supplicate God Almighty, relying fully upon Him, they will surely receive glad tidings from. Him and peace and tranquillity will descend upon them just as it descended upon the Companions of the Holy Prophets. The Companions did not know what would happen, but they were sure in their hearts that God Almighty would not let them be destroyed. . This feeling of assurance is the source of tranquillity. .
