Tau di h-e-Mar a m 55 way invest man with honour because of their role as intermediaries. Rather, it redounds to their own credit that they have been appointed to serve the elect of creation. Hence, the fact is that they are servants, not masters. How aptly Sa ‘ d i of Shir a z (on him be the mercy of God) has said: 61 To return to the point under discussion, the Angels of God—as has been mentioned before, do not have the same station and rank. Nor are the functions assigned to them of one and the same kind. Rather, all Angels, individually and severally, have been appointed to perform their separate and unique functions. In all cases cosmic influences are busy at work whether it is the changes and revolutions you come across in the world, or when the possible and potential becomes the actual and real, or when souls and bodies attain their cherished fulfilment. Sometimes, the same angel exerts different kinds of influences on different kinds of capacities and 61 The clouds and the wind The moon and the Sun And the firmament Are all so busily engaged So that you may earn your bread And do not eat it ungratefully. All are at your service, eager and obedient, Would it not be unfair if you did not obey the Lord. [Translator]
