زار روس Czar of Russia Another prophecy depicting a calamity was that the Czar of Russia would be reduced to a pitiable condition۔This sign was literally fulfilled in the First World War (1914-1918)۔The following will show how the Czar of Russia was reduced to a pitiable condition and how graphically the prophecy about him was fulfilled۔The war came and so did the time appointed for the end of the Czar۔When the revolution of 1917 started the Czar was not in the capital۔He was at the battlefront inspecting the battle lines and positions۔In the meantime, due to some indiscretion of a governor, people revolted۔The Czar sent instructions to crush the revolt with a strong hand۔But it resulted in more anti-Goverment demonstrations۔The Czar appointed a governor at the front line and himself started for the capital۔But, on the way the situation deteriorated further and he was advised not to enter the capital۔He declined this request۔Soon he learnt that the revolutionaries had taken possession of the state secretariat, and that a people's government had been set up۔On March 12, 1917 the greatest and the most powerful monarch of those days, was deposed from his mighty throne and was reduced from riches to rags۔On March 15, he signed a declaration that he and his family would never again lay claim to the Russian throne۔This was literally in accordance with the prophecy۔The family of the Czar fell as a ruling family۔The Czar Nicholas II, his wife Czarina and their children were taken prisoners on March 21, and sent to Skosilo۔The government at this time was in the hands of a member of the royal family, Prince Dilvo۔He favoured the Czar and his family۔But in July the Bolshevik revolutionaries took over the government and immediately reduced the rations of the Czar and his family۔Ill-mannered gurads would beat his sick child۔His daughters were maltreated۔Even this torture did not satiate the revolutionaries۔They invented new penalties and new pains۔One day the Czarina was forced to watch her virgin daughters raped by the soldiers۔Witnessing these brutalities and enduring more pains, the Czar at last met his end۔He was shot dead on July 16, 1918, and with him the entire royal family۔The prophecy, "even the Czar at that moment will be in a pitiable condition", was fulfilled literally۔(Adapted from Invitation to Ahmadiyyat, by Hazrat Mirza Bashir-Ud-Din Mahmud Ahmad, which contains a fuller account of the prophecy and of its fulfilment۔) 14
