هنو همس incited him. He suggested evil to his mind. هَمَزَةٌ )plural هَمَزَاتٌ : Madness or insanity; evil suggestion of an evil person which he inspires into the minds of others; incitement. أَعُوْذُبِكَ مِنْ هَمَزَاتِ الشَّيَاطِيْنِ : I seek refuge in Thee from the incitement of the evil ones )23:98( عَمَّاةٌ) هَمَزَةٌ( : One who blames, upbraids, reproaches or finds faults with others much or habitually or behind their backs. It is syn with وَيْلٌ لِكُلِّ هُمَزَةٍ لُّمَزَةٍ لُمَرَةٌ : Woe to every backbiter, slanderer )1042( هَمَّارٍ مَّشَاءٍ بِنَمِيمٍ هُمَزَةٌ = هَمَّازٌ : Back-biter; one who goes about slandering (68:12). هَمَسَ ]aor يَهْمِسُ inf. noun هَمَسَ الْكَلامَ هَمْسٌ : He spoke inaudibly or in a low, faint, gentle or soft manner. هَمَسَ الطَّعَامَ : He chewed the food. هَمَسَ الشَّيْطَنُ فِي الصُّدُورِ : The devil suggested vain things in the bosoms. سَمِعْتُ هَمْسَ الْاَخْفَافِ وَالْأَقْدَامِ : I heard the soft-sounding treading of the feet of the camels and of the feet of men. هَمْسٌ : A low, faint, gentle or soft sound. فَلَا تَسْمَعُ إِلَّا هَمْسًا : Thou shall not hear but subdued sound of footsteps (20:109). روش ]aor. يَهُمُّ inf. noun هَمَّ بِالشَّيْ أَوْ بِالْأَمْرِ هَمَّ : He meditated, proposed to himself or intended to do the thing. هَمَّ بِهِ فِي نَفْسِهِ : He determined upon it in his mind. إِذْ هَمَّ قَوْمٌ أَنْ يَّبْسُطُوْا إِلَيْكُمْ أَيْدِيَهُمْ : When a people intended to stretch out their hands against you )5:12( هَمَّتْ كُلُّ أُمَّةٍ بِرَسُوْلِهِمْ : Every people strove to seize their Messenger )40:6( أَهَمَّهُ : It rendered him anxious; it disquieted him and grieved him. قَدْ أَهَمَّتْهُمْ أَنْفُسُهُمْ : They were anxious concerning their own selves )3:155( هُمَّ : Purpose or intention; a thing intended; anxiety or disquietude of mind, distress or disquietude affecting the heart by reason of some harm that is expected to happen. It differs from غَمَّ which signifies distress or disquietude affecting the heart or mind by reason of what has happened or both. According to some the words are syn. ]aor. يَهْنُؤُ inf. noun هَنَاءَةٌ [ and هَنِيُّ ]aor. يَهْنَأُ inf. noun هَنُزَ هَنْءٌ : The food was or became pleasant or easy to swallow or agreeable. هَنَاهُ : He gave him plentifully; he aided, succoured or defended him. هَنِيٌّ : What is pleasant; a thing that gives unalloyed enjoyment. فَكُلُوْهُ هَنِيئًا مَّرِيئًا : So enjoy it as something الطَّعَامُ ور هَنُو یک 807
