According to some authorities, Ò ö Ë $ ^ º and Ò ø ^ Ê ô ô m» à ø are plurals of Ò ø ^ Ê ô º meaning a disbeliever, and Ò ø Ë ø ø é º is its plural mostly when it is used in the sense of ungrateful. Ò ø Ë $ ^ º and Ò ø Ë ö ç » º signify the same as Ò ø ^ Ê ô º or Ò ø Ë ö ç » º is an intensive epithet, meaning very ungrateful (especially to God) (17:68) and Ò ø Ë $ ^ º has a more intensive signification than Ò ø Ë ö ç » º meaning, habitually ungrateful. Ò ø Ë ö ç » º is feminine as well as masculine. Ò ø Ë $ ^ ø é º : [An expiation for a sin or crime or violated oath]; an action which has the effect of effacing a wrong action or sin or crime; that which covers or conceals sins or crimes.
