في فوم 28 فَاهَ retreating )38:16( قَسَمَ غَنَائِمَ خَيْبَرَ مِنْ فُوَاقٍ أَوْ فَوَاقٍ : He divided the spoils of Khyber in the space of the rest between two milkings i. e. very quickly. قَوْمٌ Bread; wheat; any grain used for bread فَوَّمْتُ الْخُبْزَ : I made bread or the bread. قوم : Garlic grey peas; wheat or other corn to make bread; a great gobbet of food. فُوْمِهَا : Its wheat )2:62(. ]aor. يَفُوْهُ and يَفِيَّهُ inf. noun فَاهَ بِهِ . [ فَوْهٌ : He uttered it or pronounced it. فَاهَ الرَّجُلُ بِكَذَا : The man opened his mouth with such a thing. مَا فُهْتُ بِكَلِمَةٍ : I opened not my mouth with a word. فَوِهَ )aor. يَفُوْهُ( : He (a man) had what is termed فَرَةٌ which means width of the mouth and largeness thereof. فُوْهٌ and فَاءٌ and فِيةٌ and فُوْ )and فَمٌ( all signify the same i. e. the mouth. أَفْوَاهُ )plural( مَاتَ لِفِيهِ : He died upon his face. فَوْهٌ : Perfume. لِيَبْلُغَ فَاهُ : So that it may reach his mouth )13:15( تَقُوْلُوْنَ بِأَفْوَاهِكُمْ : You uttered with في your mouths (24:16). كَتَبَ كِتَابًا فِي عِلْمِ اللُّغَةِ is a particle used in a variety of senses. It denotes (1) "inclusion" or "in-being" either in relation to place or time. زَيْدٌ فِي الدَّارِ : Zaid is in the house (meaning in, within and in the midst of it(. فِي شُغُلٍ فَاكِهُوْنَ : In the midst of diverting occupation, happy (36:56); (2) When relating to time, it may be rendered "in or during". فِي أَيَّامٍ مَّعْدُوْدَاتٍ : In or during certain numbered days (2:204); (3) It may be rendered as "of" or "concerning" or "in respect of". اللُّغَةِ : He wrote a book of or concerning the science of lexicology. أَتُحَاجُّوْنَنَا فِى اللَّهِ : Do you argue with us concerning or in respect of Allah (2:140); (4) It also denotes "concomitance"; in this case it is syn. with مع meaning "with "or" among". قَالَ ادْخُلُوْا فِي أُمَمٍ : He shall say enter ye with peoples (7:39); (5) It also denotes the assigning of a cause. إِنَّ امْرَأَةً أُدْخِلَتِ النَّارَ فِي هِرَّةٍ حَبَسَتْهَا : A woman entered the Fire because of a she-cat which she confined without food (a tradition in Muslim(. فَذَلِكُنَّ الَّذِيْ لُمْتُتَّنِي فِيْهِ : And this is he about or because of whom you blamed me (12:33); (6) It is used in the sense of وَلا صَلِّبَنَّكُمْ فِي جُذُوْعِ النَّخْلِ عَلَى : I will assuredly crucify you upon the trunks of the palm-trees (20:72); (7) It is also syn. 668
