غضب غص (act. part): One who takes things by force or unjustly and wrongfully. غَصَّ ]aor. يَغُصُّ and يَعْصُّ inf. noun غَصَصٌ and غَصَّ بِالطَّعَامِ . [ غَصُّ : His throat became choked or obstructed by food غَصَّ ِبالْغَيْظِ : He was or became choked with wrath. غَصَّ الْمَجْلِسُ بِأَهْلِهِ : The sitting-place became choked by its people. غَصَّ : He became grieved or disquieted in mind. غُصَّةٌ : A thing lying across in the throat so as to cause a choking or obstruction thereof; a thing by which one is choked; choking wrath or rage; grief or disquietude of mind. غُصَصُ الْمَوْتِ : The chokings of death; agonies of death; the death-rattles وَطَعَامًا ذَا غُصَّةٍ : And a food that chokes (73:14). غَصَنَ ]aor. يَغْصِنُ inf. noun غَصَنَ الْغُصْنَ غَصْنٌ : He cut off the branch; he drew the branch towards him. غَصَنَ الشَّيْءَ : He took the thing. غَصَنَ فُلَانًا عَنْ حَاجَتِهِ : He turned away such a one from the object of his want. غُصْنٌ : A branch from the stem of a tree. غَضَّ . [ غَضَاضَةٌ and غَضَاضٌ and غِضَاضٌ and غَضٌ inf. noun يَغُضُّ aor] غَضَ طَرْفَهُ أَوْ بَصَرَهُ وَغَضَّ مِنْ بَصَرِهِ أَوْ طَرْفِهِ : He lowered his eye or eyes, or he contracted his eye or eyes and looked to the ground; he blinked; he contracted his eyelids; he looked languishingly. قُلْ لِلْمُؤْ مِنِينَ يَغُضُّوا مِنْ أَبْصَارِهِمْ : Say to the believing men that they restrain their eyes. وَقُلْ لِلْمُؤْمِنَاتِ يَغْضُضْنَ مِنْ أَبْصَارِهِنَّ : And say to the believing women that they restrain their eyes )24:31:32( غَضٌ صَوْتَهُ and غَضَّ مِنْ صَوْتِهِ : He lowered his voice. يَغْضُوْنَ أَصْوَاتَهُمْ : They lower their voices )494( وَاغْضُضْ مِنْ صَوْتِک : And lower thy voice )31:20(. غَضَّ مِنْهُ : He detracted from his reputation غَضَهُ : He diminished it or made it defective or deficient. مَا غَضَضْتُكَ شَيْئًا : I have not deprived thee or defrauded thee of any taking غَضَّ الْغُصْنَ : He broke the branch but did not break it thoroughly. غَضَّ also means, it was or became fresh, juicy, soppy. غَضِبَ ]aor. يَغْضَبُ inf. noun غَضَبٌ and غَضِبَ عَلَيْهِ . [ مَغْضَبَةٌ : He was angry with him and wanted to take revenge from him. غَضِبَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ : Allah will be wroth with him )494( غَضَبٌ is a passion accompanied by an eagerness to take revenge, while الْغَضَبُ is 617
