غرب غرب غَرَبَ ]aor. يَغْرُبُ inf. noun غَرْبٌ [ : He or it went or departed; he retired or became removed from men )غَرَبَ فِي سَفَرِهِ . غَرَبَ عَنِ النَّاسِ : He or it became distant or remote in his journey. غَرَبَ الرَّجُلُ )inf. noun غُرُوْبٌ( : The man became distant. غَرَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ : The sun set. إِذَا غَرَبَتْ : When it sets )18:18( غَرَبَ also means, he or it became hidden or absent; he retired from view or hid himself in his ولا لک lurking-place. غُرْبَةٌ) غَرَبَ عَنْ وَطَنِهِ and غُرْبٌ( : He was far away from his home land. غَرَابَةٌ) غَرْبَ الْكَلامُ and غُرْبَةٌ are inf. noun(: The speech was strong or unusual غُرَبَ الْكَلِمَةُ : The word was difficult, obscure, difficult to be understood. غَرِبَ )aor. يَغْرَبُ inf. noun غَرَبٌ(: He or it became black. غُرُوْبٌ : Setting of the sun or the star. قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ غُرُوْبِهَا : Before the rising of the sun and before its setting )20:131( غَرْبٌ : Distance or remoteness; a distant or remote place which one purposes to reach in one's journey. الْغَرْبُ )syn. with اَلْمَغْرِبُ( : Sunset i. e. the time of sunset, the place of sunset; west, the north-west of Africa; flow of tears etc. الْغَرْبِيُّ relative pronoun of غَرْبٌ meaning relating to the west; western. بِجَانِبِ الْغَرْبِيِّ : On the western side )28:45( غَرْبِيَّةٌ )feminine of غَرْبِيٌّ( : Western or of the west or belonging to the west. لَّا شَرْقِيَّةٍ وَ لا غَرْبِيَّةٍ : Neither of the east nor of the west )22:36( غَرْبٌ also signifies briskness or sprightliness; sharpness. الْمَغْرِبُ )syn. with اَلْغَرْبُ( : Place and time of sunset; west; north-west of Africa evening. رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ : Lord of the East and of the West (26:29).
