سوى thoroughly cooked. اِسْتَوَى إِلَى الشَّيْءِ : He turned towards a thing. ثُمَّ اسْتَوَى إِلَى السَّمَاءِ : Then He turned towards the heavens )2:30( سَوَهُ : was or became equal to it and like it in measure, extent, size, bulk, quantity and in value . إِذَا سَاوَى بَيْنَ الصَّدَفَيْنِ : When he had levelled up the space between the two mountain-sides )1897( 1): سَوَاءٌ( Equality, equability, uniformity or evenness nequit, justice or rectitude. فَانْبِذْ إِلَيْهِمْ عَلَى سَوَاءٍ : Throw back to them (their covenant) on terms of equality or with equity (8:59); (2) the middle or midst of a thing And he shall see him in the middle or : فَرَاهُ فِي سَوَاءِ الْجَحِيمِ (سَوَاءُ الشَّيْءِ) سوى midst of the fire of Hell )37:56( سَوَاءِ السَّبِيلِ : The middle of the road or the right road or path (5: 78); (3) the summit of a mountain or a hill or eminence; (4) equal, equable, uniform سَوَاءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَ أَنْذَرْتَهُمْ : It being equal to them whether thou warn them (2:7) (5) Complete: هَذَا دِرْهَمٌ سَوَاءٌ : This is a complete dirhem; (6) Equitable, just or right. تَعَالَوْا إِلَى كَلِمَةٍ سَوَاءٍ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمْ : Come ye to an equitable, just or right word between us and you (3:65); (7) Equidistant or midway between two parties or places; (8) Equal or alike. لَيْسُوْا سَوَاءً مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ : They are not all alike; among the People of the Book )3:114( سَوَاءً لِلسَّائِلِينَ : Alike for all seekers (41:11); (9) A like, a similar person. سُوًى and سِوًى : Alike; equidistant or midway. مَكَانًا سُوًى : A place equidistant or midway; or a market-place, or having a mark or sign by which one is guided or directed thereto )20:59( سَوِيٌّ : Complete or full right or direct; of symmetrical and good and uniform make. رَجُلٌ سَوِيٌّ : A man equally free from excess and deficiency in disposition and make, or sound in limbs. غُلامٌ سَوِيٌّ : A young man uniform in make or symmetrical, without disease and without fault or defect. الصِّرَاطُ السَّوِيُّ : The road or way that neither exceeds nor falls short of that which is right; the right or direct road ثَلاثَ لَيَالٍ سَوِيًّا : Full three nights with no bodily defect for three nights )19:11( فَتَمَثْلَ لَهَا بَشَرًا سَوِيًّا : And he appeared to her in the form of a perfect man )19:18( اَهْدِكَ صِرَاطًا سَوِيًّا : I will guide thee to the right path(19:44). سَابَ aor. يَسِيْبُ inf. noun )سَيْبٌ [ : He went wherever he would. For سَائِبَةٌ see at the end where proper nouns and technical terms are dealt with. 426
