اخ اد اذ you intermix with them, they are your brethren )2:221( أَبْنَاؤُكُمْ وَإِخْوَانُكُمْ : Your sons and your brethren )9:24( أَوْ بُيُوْتِ أَخَوَاتِكُمْ : Or the houses of your sisters )24:62( كُلَّمَا دَخَلَتْ أُمَّةٌ لَّعَنَتْ أُخْتَهَا : 88 Every time a nation enters, it shall curse its sister (nation) )7:39( النَّوْمَ أَحْتُ الْمَوْتِ : Sleep is the sister (like) of death. رُبَّ اَخِ لَّكَ لَمْ تَلِدْهُ أُمُّكَ : There is many a brother to thee whom thy mother has not brought forth كَانُوا إِخْوَانَ الشَّيَاطِيْنِ : They are the fellows or likes of the devils (brothers literally( )17:28( . إِلَّا هِيَ أَكْبَرُ مِنْ أُخْتِهَا : But it was greater than its like (or fellow( )43:49(. ]aor. يَؤُدُّ inf. noun اَدًا and اَدَّهُ الْأَمْرُ إِدَادًا : The affair fell heavy upon him. اَدَّتْهُ الدَّاهِيَةُ : A calamity befell him اِذْ : A wonder or wonderful thing: A very evil, abominable, severe thing or affair. لَقَدْ جِئْتُمْ شَيْئًا إِدًّا : Verily you have done a very evil or abominable thing (19:90). أَدَّى ]aor. يُؤَدِّي inf. noun آگاه [اَدَاءٌ : He made it to reach, arrive or come to the appointed person or place; he brought, conveyed or paid, delivered it; he paid or discharged it; he delivered, gave it up or surrendered it. أَدَّى الْأَمَانَةَ إِلَى أَهْلِهَا : He gave over or surrendered the trust to its owner. أَدَّى مَا عَلَيْهِ : He acquitted himself of that which was incumbent on him; he paid or discharged what he owed; he fulfilled or accomplished. إِنَّ الله يَأْمُرُكُمْ أَنْ تُؤَدُّوا الْأَمَنَتِ إِلَى أَهْلِهَا : Verily Allah commands you to give over or surrender the trust to those who are entitled to it (4:59). فَلْيُؤَدِ الَّذِي اؤْتُمِنَ آمَانَتَهُ : Let him who is entrusted surrender his trust )2:284( لا يَؤَدِّهِ إِلَيْكَ : He will not deliver or give up or return to thee )3:76( اَدَاءٌ إِلَيْهِ بِإِحْسَانِ : The paying of it in a handsome manner )2:179( اَدُّوْا إِلَيَّ عِبَادَ اللهِ : Deliver to me the servants of Allah (44:19). اذ is a word denoting past time. وَإِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ : And when thy Lord said to the angels (2:31). When اِذْ is adjoined to nouns signifying time, the Arabs join it with 'then' in writing in certain instances, namely, حِينَئِذٍ )at that time or then) and يَوْمَئِذٍ )in, on, or at that day and وَقْتَئِذٍ )at that time; then). When it is followed by a verb, or by a noun not having the article prefixed 13
