سنا سندس سَنِمَ ]aor. يَسْنَمُ inf. noun سَنِمَ الْبَعِيرُ سَنَمٌ : The camel was or became large in the hump سَنَّمَه )inf. noun تَسْنِيمٌ ( : It made him fat; he raised it from the ground like the سَنَّمَ الْاَءِ نَاءَ سَنَامٌ : Hefilled the vessel. سَلَّمَ الْقَبَرَ : He raised the grave from the ground like the سَنَامٌ or he made it gibbous. تَسَنَّمَ السَّحَابُ الْأَرْضَ : The cloud rained copiously or abundantly upon the land. سَنَامٌ : The highest part of a thing or the best or choicest part thereof. Thus تَسْنِيم means: (1) Toraise high or to fill, or a thing which raises or fills; (2) water running above the elevated chambers; (3) a certain fountain or source coming from above. وَ مِزَاجُهُ مِنْ تَسْنِيمٍ : And it will be tempered with the water of تَسْنِيمٌ )water coming from above) (83:28). 280 سَنِهَ ]aor. يَسْنَهُ inf. noun سَنَهَا [ : It passed through a time extending over years. سَنِهَ الطَّعَامُ and تَسَنَّةَ الطَّعَامُ : The food became altered for the worse, or rotted; it rotted or became altered for the worse by the lapse of years. لَمْ يَتَسَنَّهُ : It has not rotted (2:260). See under وسن سَنَا ]aor. يَسْنُوْ inf. noun سَنَا السَّحَابُ الْأَرْضَ سُنُوٌّ : The cloud watered the earth. سَنَا الْبَعِيرُ : The camel turned about the well to draw water. سَنَتِ النَّارُ : The fire became high in its light. سَنَاءُ : سَنَا الْبَرَقُ inf. noun): The lightning flashed and became bright; gleamed سَنِيَ الرَّجُلُ : The man became high or exalted in rank سَنَا means light, or the light of lightning and of fire; oralight: يَكَادُ سَنَا بَرْقِهِ يَذْهَبُ بَالْأَبْصَارِ : The flashof his lightning may well-nigh (or the rising and gloaming upwards) take away the sight )24:44( سَنَةٌ )derived both from سَنِهَ and سَنُوَ or )سَنِىَ( : A year (syn. حَوْلٌ or عَامٌ(. It is also said to be longer than the عام which is applied to the twelve Arabian months collectively; but سَنَةٌ is also applied to twelve revolutions of the moon.
