سجر of سَاجِدٌ . سُجُودٌ )act. part. ): Being humble, lowly or submissive, prostrating oneself. سَاجِدًا وَّ قَائِمًا : Prostrating himself and standing (39:10); one who prostrates himself. The plurals of فُلانٌ سَاجِدُ الْمِنْخَرِ سَاجِدِينَ and سَاجِدُوْنَ and سُجَّدٌ and سُجُوْدٌ are سَاجِدٌ Such a one is humble, low الرُّكَّعِ السُّجُودِ : And those who bow down and those who fall prostrate in Prayer )2:126( ادْخُلُوا الْبَابَ سُجَّدًا : And enter the gate submissively )2:59( فَقَعُوْا لَهُ سَاجِدِينَ : Fall ye down in submission to him )15:30( الرَّاكِعُوْنَ السَّاجِدُونَ : Those who bow down and who prostrate themselves (9:112). سُجُوْدٌ )plural of سَاجِدٌ as shown above(. عَيْنٌ سَاجِدَةٌ : A languid eye. يُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى السُّجُوْدِ : They will be called upon to prostrate themselves (68:43). It also means prescribed prostrations. وَ اَدْبَارَ السُّجُودِ : And after (prescribed) prostrations )50:41( مَسْجِدٌ : A house of Prayer; a mosque عِنْدَ كُلِّ مَسْجِدٍ : At every place of worship )7:30( مَسَاجِدُ )plural) of مَسْجِدٌ( : Places of worship. إِنَّ الْمَسَاجِدَ لِلَّهِ : All places of worship belong to Allah )72:19( مَسْجِدٌ جامع : A mosque in which a congregation assembles to perform the Friday Prayers. الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ : The Sacred Mosque i. e. the Ka'ba )2:145( الْمَسْجِدِ الْأَقْصَى : The Distant Mosque )17:2(. الْمَسْجِدَانِ : The two mosques i. e. the Ka'ba and the mosque of the Holy Prophet at Madina. سجد The water : سَجَرَ الْمَاءُ النَّهْرَ سُجَرَةٌ and سَجْرٌ inf. noun يَسْجُرُ aor سَجَرَ ندان filled the stream سَجَّرَ التنور : He filled the oven with fire and heated it; he kindled fire in the oven. سَجَّرَ الْمَاءَ : He opened a way to the water; he made the water to flow forth. سَجَّرَ الْمَاءَ فِي حَلْقِهِ : He poured the water into his throat. ثُمَّ فِي النَّارِ يُسْجَرُوْنَ : Then in the Fire will they be burnt; then into the Fire they are poured )40:73( سُجِّرَ الْبَحْرُ : The sea stormed and its waves rose. وَإِذِ الْبِحَارُ سُجِّرَتْ : And when the seas are made to flow forth one into another, thus become one ocean, or when the seas shall be set on fire; shall become without water; when the seas shall be filled with fire; shall meet together and become one ocean )81:7( مَسْجُورٌ )pass. part): (1) filled مَسْجُورٌ بِالنَّارِ : Filled with fire; (2) made to flow forth; (3) empty; (4) kindled; (5) still or quiet or still and full at the same time. عَيْنٌ مَسْجُوْرَةٌ : A full eye. 382
