راح رها )2:88( نَزَلَ بِهِ الرُّوْحُ الْأَمِينُ : The Spirit Faithful to the Trust, has descended with it (26:194). This expression is also generally taken to signify the angel Gabriel. ريح : Wind breath of air ريح غَلِيظَةٌ : Flatulence scent; smell; fragrance. جَاءَ تُهَا رِيْحٌ عَاصِفٌ : There overtakes them a violent wind )10:23( إِنِّي لَاَجِدُ رِيْحَ يُوْسُفَ : I feel the scent of Joseph (12:95); power, or force; prestige, predominance; turn of good fortune. تَذْهَبَ رِيْحُكُمْ : Your power or prestige or predominance will depart (8:47); aid against the enemy or victory or conquest; a good, sweet or pleasant thing. رِيَاحُ )plural( هُوَ الَّذِي يُرْسِلُ الرِّيَاحَ : He is Who sends the winds (7:58); the plural generally used in a good sense, and the singular in an evil sense. اِذْ هَبَّتْ رِيَاحُكَ فَاغْتَنِمْهَا : When thy good fortune comes or turn of good fortune comes, avail thyself of them. The Holy Prophet is reported to have said اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهَا رِيَاحًا وَّ لا تَجْعَلْهَا رِيْحًا : Lord, make it to be winds and make it not to be a wind. فُلانٌ يَحِيْلُ مَعَ كُلِّ رِيْحٍ : Such a one turns with every wind. : رَجُلٌ سَاكِنُ الرِّيحِ . Such a one is very generous : فُلانٌ كَالرِّيحِ الْمُرْسِلَةِ A man who is calm, sedate or staid. رَهَا ]aor. يَرْهُمْ inf. noun رَهَا بَيْنَ رِجْلَيْهِ [رَهْرٌ : He parted his legs or made a parting between his legs. رَهَا فِي السَّيْرِ : He was gentle in going. ) رَهْرٌ : Going easily( جَاءَ تِ الْإِبِلُ رَهْوًا : The camels came following one another or pacing along gently or quietly. ) رَهْرٌ : Being still, quiet, motion-less, calm, allayed( فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ سَهْوًا رَهْوًا : He did that quietly or calmly, without being hard. أَعْطَيْتُهُ رَهْوًا : I gave him voluntarily without being asked رَهَا الطَّائِرُ : The bird spread his wing without flapping them. رَهْوًا : An intervening space between two things; a depressed place where water collects; an elevated place or tract of ground; a way through a market place, at the sides of which sit the sellers. بِئْرٌ رَهْرٌ : A well wide in the mouth; a thing dispersed or scattered; still, quiet. أُرْهُ عَلَى نَفْسِكَ : Calm thyself. مَطَرٌ رَهْرٌ : A still rain. وَاتْرُكِ الْبَحْرَ رَهْوًا : And leave the sea motionless i. e. at a time when it is still and motionless )44:25( غَارَةٌ رَهْرٌ : Invaders following one another; a certain species of birds. 348
