رغب رعی me. فِيْهِ ظُلُمَاتٌ وَ رَعْدٌ وَّبَرْقُ : Wherein is thick darkness and thunder and lightning )2:20( رَعْدٌ : Thunder جَاءَ بِذَاتِ الرَّعْدِ وَالصَّلِيْلِ : He brought thunder and noise i. e. war. ذَاتُ الرَّوَاعِدِ : Calamity. في كِتَابِهِ رُعُوْدٌ وَ بُرُوْقٌ : In his book or letter are words of threat or threats. 28 رَعَى ]aor. يَرْعَى inf. noun رَعْيٌ and رِعَايَةٌ and رَعَتِ الْمَاشِيَةُ مَرْعًى : The cattle pastured by themselves. رَعَيْتُ الْإِبِلَ : I kept tended or pastured the camels. رَعَى الأَمِيرُ رَعِيَّتَهُ : The Amir ruled or governed his subjects. رَعَاكَ اللهُ : May God guard thee. رَعَى اَمْرَهُ : He was mindful or regardful of his affair. أَوْ رَعَاهَا ( أَرْعَى الْمَاشِيَةَ( : He pastured the cattle. وَارْعَوْا أَنْعَامَكُمْ : And you pasture your cattle )20:55( رَاعَ الرَّجُلَ : He looked to him with kindness or he had regard for him. رَاعَ أَمْرَهُ : He watched his affair, he was mindful of his affair. رَاعَ النَّجُوْمَ : He watched the stars. رَاعَيْتُهُ سَمْعِي : I listened to him; I lent my ear to him. هُوَ لا يَرْعَى إِلَى قَوْلِ اَحَدٍ أَوْ لَا يُرْعِي : He has no regard or he pays no heed to the talk of any one. رِعَايَةٌ : Guarding a person or thing; being mindful or regardful of him or it; managing or governing him or it. فَمَا رَعَوْهَا حَقَّ رِعَايَتِهَا : But they observed it not in due manner (57:28); they were not mindful or regardful of it. لا تَقُوْلُوْا رَاعِنَا : Do not say "Raina" i. e. look to us, have regard for us )2:105( رَاعٍ )plural( رُعَاةٌ and رُعَاءٌ and رِعَاءٌ and رُعْيَانٌ( : A keeper or guard and pastor or shepherd, ruler, governor. حَتَّى يُصِدِرَ الرِّعَاءُ : Until the shepherds take away their flocks )28:24(. َ وَالَّذِيْنَ هُمْ لَا مَا نَتِهِمْ وَعَهْدِهِمْ رَاعُوْنَ : Those who are watchful of their trusts and their covenants (23:9). The Holy Prophet is reported to have said, كُلُّكُمْ رَاعٍ وَكُلُّكُمْ مَسْئُولٌ عَنْ رَعِيَّتِهِ : Every one of you is a governor or ruler and every one of you shall be questioned respecting those he governed (Hadith). مَرْعَى : Pasture; pasturage or place of pasture. وَالَّذِي أَخْرَجَ الْمَرْعَى : And Who brings forth the pasturage (87:5). رَغِبَ ]aor. يَرْغَبُ inf. noun رَغْبَةٌ and رَغْبٌ and رَغَبٌ[ : He desired a thing. رَغِبَ فِيْهِ : He desired it or wished for it. وَتَرْغَبُوْنَ أَنْ تَنْكِحُوْهُنَّ : And you desire to marry them )4:128( رَغِبَ عَنْهُ : He did not desire it; he turned away from it; he abstained from it; he 332
