ذر ذبح ذَبَحَ و لک ]aor. يَذْبَحُ inf. noun ذَبَحَهُ ذَبْحٌ : He cut lengthwise, split; slit it; he rent or ripped or rent or ripped open; he slaughtered or sacrificed it (namely a sheep or goat or cow etc. ) in the manner prescribed by the law by cutting the two external jugular veins or by cutting the throat, q نَحَرَ But correctly اَلذَّبْحُ is in the throat and اَلنَّحْرُ is in the pit above the breast, between the collar-bones, where camels are stabbed, اَلنَّحْرُ being used in relation to camels and اَلذَّبْحُ in relation to other animals. ذَبَحَ عَنْهُ : He slaughtered or sacrificed for him by way of expiation. ذَبَحَ also means, he slaughtered or slew in any manner. فَذَبَحُوْهَا : Then they slaughtered her )272( ذَبَّحَ signifies the same as ذَبَحَ except that it applies only to many objects, whereas ذَبَحَ applies to few and to many. Moreover ذَبَّحَ signifies, he did the act of slaughtering thoroughly, fully and also mercilessly i. e. يُذَبِّحُ أَبْنَانَهُمْ . بَالَغَ فِي الذَّبْحِ : He slaughtered their sons and slaughtered them mercilessly )28:5( ذِبْحُ : An animal intended to be slaughtered; an animal that is slaughtered or sacrificed. وَفَدَيْنَاهُ بِذِبْحٍ عَظِيمٍ : And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice. ذَبِيحُ : That which is slaughtered; or that whichis fit for sacrifice. ذَبِيحَةٌ )feminine): Animalto be sacrificed soon. ذَخَرَ ]aor. يَذْخَرُ inf. noun ذَخْرٌ and ذَخَرَهُ [ذُخْرٌ and إِدَّخَرَهُ : He hoarded it or laid it up for the future; he stored it up; or prepared or provided it for a time of need; he selected it. فُلانٌ مَا يَدَّخِرُهُ نُصْحًا : Such a one does not treasure in his heart good advice. ذَخِيْرَةٌ : A thing stored up for the time of need. ذَخَائِرُ )plural(. أَعْمَالُ الْمُؤْمِنِ ذَخَائِرُ : The works of the believers are his treasures. وَمَا تَدَّخِرُوْنَ : And what you will store up )3:50(. ]aor. يَذُرُّ inf. noun ذَرَّ الْمِلْحَ ذَرِّ : He sprinkled or scattered the salt. ذَرَّ اللَّهُ عِبَادَهُ فِي الْأَرْضِ : God spread His servants upon the earth. ذَرَّتِ الْاَرْضُ النَّبَتَ : The ground put forth the plant. ذُرِّيَّةٌ )used as singular and plural, and ذُرِّيَّاتٌ is used as plural): Children or offspring of a man, male or female; little ones or young ones; descendants; progenitors or ancestors, حَمَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ فِي الْفُلْكِ الْمَشْحُوْنِ : We carried their offspring (or their ذَرَّ progenitors) in the laden ship (36:42); women. ذُرِّيَّةٌ بَّعْضُهَا مِنْ بَعْضٍ : Descendants one of another )3:35( وَلَهُ ذُرِّيَّةٌ ضُعَفَاءُ : And he has weak 289
