حمد = full with black, fetid mud تَغْرُبُ فِي عَيْنٍ حَمِئَةٍ : Setting in a pool of murky water )18:87( مِنْ حَمَدٍ مَّسْئُون : From black mud wrought into shape )15:27( حم : Abbreviated letters standing for "The Praiseworthy, the Lord of Honour; The Protector of the Book )حَافِةٌ( and its Revealer ) مُنَزِّلٌ( etc. )432( 28 حَمِدَ ]aor. يَحْمَدُ inf. noun حَمِدَهُ عَلَى كَذَا [حَمْدٌ : He praised, eulogized or commended him; spoke well of him for such a thing حَمِدَ : He requited him; He gave him his due. حَمِدَ is cont. of ذم and is formed by transposition from مَدَحَ which signifies, he praised him, etc. for something depending of his own will, thus describing a pearl as clear is not حَمْدٌ but it is مَدْحُ For difference between حَمْدٌ and شُكْرٌ See para No. 803 حَمِدَ عَلَيْهِ : He was angry with him. يُحِبُّوْنَ أَنْ يُحْمَدُوْا بِمَا لَمْ يَفْعَلُوْا : They love to be praised for what they have not done )3:18( حَمَّدَ اللهَ : He praised God much or repeatedly. أَحْمَدَ : He did or said that for which he should be praised or which was praiseworthy. أَحْمَدَ الشَّيْءُ : The thing was or became praiseworthy أَحْمَدَ الشَّيْءَ : He found the thing praise worthy. أَحْمَدَهُ : He made it manifest that he was worthy of praise; he approved of or praised his action. حَمْدٌ : Praise, eulogy. الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ : All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds أَحْمَدُ : One who praises much. مُحَمَّدٌ : A man praised much or repeatedly; a man endowed with many praise worthy qualities. مَحْمُوْدٌ : A person or any thing praised; exalted etc حَمِيدٌ : Worthy of praise; praised, eulogized; spoken well of; mentioned with approbation, etc. It is an intensive epithet. وَاعْلَمُوْا أَنَّ اللَّهَ غَنِيٌّ حَمِيدٌ : And know that Allah is Self-Sufficient, Praise worthy )2268( عَسَى أَنْ يَّبْعَثَكَ رَبُّكَ مَقَامًا مَّحْمُوْدًا : It may be that thy Lord will raise thee to an exalted (much praised) station )17:80( وَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ إِلَّا رَسُوْلٌ : Muhammad is only a Messenger of God )3144( يَأْتِي مِنْ بَعْدِى ِاسْمُهُ أَحْمَدُ : Will come after me whose name will be Ahmed )61:7(. حَمَرَ ]aor. يَحْمُرُ inf. noun حَمْرًا [ : He pared a thing; stripped it of its superficial part. حَمَرَ الشَّاةَ : He skinned the sheep. حِمَارٌ )plural The : كَمَثَلِ الْحِمَارِ يَحْمِلُ اَسْفَارًا .
