For instance: 'One of the scribes came. . . and asked him, which is the first commandment of all? 'God alone is immortal: the blessed and only potentate, King of kings, and Lord of lords; Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach; Whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting' (1 Tim. 6:15-16) The doctrine of the Trinity necessarily imports the complete equality in all respects of the three persons of the Trinity, for if there were inequality in any respect between them that would mean the superiority of one over the other two or the superiority of two 22
