Wrong date of birth, wrong reason Musht a q Chisht i has used a novel approach to prove P i r Meher ‘Al i to be the reformer of the 14 th century. He has coined a phrase 41 ّد ن ا ا . From its gematrical value, which is 1275, Chisht i has come up with the view that since this figure taken as a year of Hijrah is the same year as the birth of P i r Meher ‘Al i , it proves that P i r Meher ‘Al i was the mujaddid [reformer] of the 14th century. [Musht a q] Chisht i has fixed the year of the birth of P i r Meher ‘Al i as 1275 Hijrah, which according to the Christian calendar is 1859 AD. Whereas according to Maulav i Muhammad F ad il Sa bir of Thekri an , who was one of the special devotees of the P i r Meher ‘Al i and an elder of [Musht a q] Chisht i , the year of P i r Meher ‘Al i ’s birth was 1837 AD, making a difference of 23 years. To elaborate, in Mehr-e-Mun i r , the biography of P i r Meher ‘Al i published by Maul a n a Fai d Ahmad of J a mi‘ah Ghosi a Golrha Shar i f, with the permission of Syed Ghul a m Muhy i ud-D i n Sh a h who adorned the high Ghosi a throne of Golrha Shar i f, has recorded a dirge of Muhammad F ad il Sa bir, the last line of which settles the years of 41 Mujaddid [reformer] of the 14th century [Publishers]
