You exercised deception and trickery and announced prize money in your book to please the ignorant masses. But you kept it [the prize money] enclosed and did not disclose it and deceived in whatever you said. I know that you are not a rich person. Moreover, I do not know whether you keep your word and are righteous. On the con- trary, I find treachery in your words like sinful people. In view of this, what guarantee is there that you will fulfil your promise when you face defeat and start shuddering? The truth is that the betrayal of one’s promise is one of the chief characteristics of this generation. If you arrive at the pool of betrayal, then tell me—O miserly one!—from where shall I obtain this money? I do not want to take this issue to court, requiring the help of أن یُخزیك، ویُري الخلق خزیك، فبارزت َ وأقبلت، وفعلت ما فعلت، وزوّرت وسوّلت، وكتبت في كتابك إ نعام، لتُرضي به االٔنعام، ولكن ال ا رتَقت َ وما فتَقت، وخدعت َ في كل ما نطقت، وإنّا نعلم أنك لست من المتموّلین. ومع ذلك ال نعرف أنك صادق الوعد ومن المتقین، بل نری خیانتك في قولك كالفاسقین. فما الثقة بأنك حین تُغلب وترتعد ستفي بما تعد؟ في كالتحجیل الغدر صار وقد َ حلیة هذا الجیل، فإن وردت غدیر الغدر، فمن أین نأخذ العَین یا ضیِّق الصدر؟ وما نرید أن تُرجع االٔمر إلی القضاة ونحتاج إلی عون الوالة، ونكون عرضة للمخاطرات. ونعلم
