26 THE CONCLUSIVE ARGUMENT and through his vain speech, and that if I remained silent, he would definitely increase in his crimes and would deceive people with his false claim of silencing me. When he entered the trap, I deemed it proper to seize him and slaughter him for the hun- gry. Verily, he flies like a locust in order to devour the crop of the Lord of the people. Hence, in support of the fountain of truth and its flowing waters, I thought it proper to hunt this locust and its young and save God's crea- tures from the deception of the إنعامه وترهات كلامه، ولو صمتنا فلا شك أنه يزيد في اجترامه، ويخدع الناس بتزوير إفحامه وإنه ولج الفخ فنرى أن نأخذه ثم نذبحه للجائعين وإنه يطير طيران الجراد، ليأكل زرع رب العباد، فرأينا لتائيد عين الحقيقة ومجاريها، أن نصطاد هذه الجراد مع ذراريها، وتنج الخلق من كيد الخائنين فوالذي حبانا بمحبته ودعانا إلى تائيد treacherous. I swear by Him who أحبّته، إنا لا نرغب في عطاء هذا الرجل وإنعامه، بل نحسبه فضولا كفضول كلامه، وما نريد إلا أن نريه جزاء اجترامه، لئلا يغتر بعض الجهلة من المتعصبين granted me His love and called me in support of His loved ones, that I have no interest whatso- ever in the prize money of that man. I consider him as absurd as his discourse. I just want him to see the reward for his crime so that certain biased, ignorant people may not be misled.
