which prophets of the past were called gods. 'Son of. God' is simply a metaphor and not a literal description. (2) The title of 'Son of God' is conferred on a host of people in the Bible; refer: "And you shall say to Pharaoh, 'Thus says the Lord, Israel is my first-born son," (Ex. 4:22) "You are the son of the Lord your God. . . . "(Deut. 14: 1). "Father of the fatherless. . . is God . . "(Ps. 68: 5). "He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever, I will be his father, and he shall be my son. . . . . . " (Sam. ii. 7:13-14). "He said to me, 'It is Solomon your son who shall build my house and my courts, for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father. " (Chron, i. 28: 6). "He shall build a house for my name. He shall be my son, and I will be his father," (Chron. i. 22: 10). "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called Sons of God" (Mt. 5:9)—"-so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven;-"(Mt. 5:45). "And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven. " (Mt. 23: 9).
