130 never be upset by the hardships that you may face in serving the faith. To quote: 12 If you suffer some pain or agony, the disbelievers suffer in the same way, but you hope to receive rewards from Allah which they cannot hope for. Therefore, you should also remember that though you might feel burdened on account of these repeated requests for making financial contributions, keep in mind that the enemies of Islam are laying down their lives and spending their wealth too in order to destroy Islam. In terms of hardships there is no difference between you and them, but the rewards which you are hoping to receive cannot be attained by them. Therefore, how painful would it be if, in spite of all these good expectations, you still show slackness; whereas the enemies, in spite of being smitten with every kind of hopelessness, should continue their work and face every kind of hardship for the sake of spreading mere falsehood? The door to divine rewards is open to you. You should seek to attain this reward as much as you can. At the moment, we are in need of money, but God is Self-Sufficient. He needs no help from anyone. In fact, He has provided our Jam a ‘at with this opportunity to serve the faith. He has done this as His sheer grace towards us; otherwise, His enterprise is such that it can never suffer.
